html - Why are these two pages displaying differently on ipad? -

on second page background spans entire page on first page cuts off. i'm guessing it's css, can't figure out.

if have xcode developer tools installed on mac, can attach safari web inspector ipad simulator, this:

  1. open ios simulator:open xcode, go menu xcode > open developer tool > ios simulator
  2. change hardware mode in simulator ipad
  3. open settings app on simulator, go safari > advanced , set web inspector on
  4. follow instructions under web inspector switch: open desired web page in safari in ipad simulator, , open desktop version of safari on mac. go develop > ipad simulator menu in safari , choose appropriate page

now you'll have web inspector window attached web page in ipad simulator, full power debug web page.

i used find bad html markup mentioned in comment. when used web inspector fix markup (find html element in resource tab or use hand icon select element in simulator window, right click element , choose edit html), , changed style attribute div mentioned have min-width: 1002px;, page looked ok in ipad simulator me. change 1002px based on 1 of parent elements, <div id="wrapper">, having width: 1002px defined in css. wider min-width of 1124px caused page width problem.
