How do some companies manage disabled accounts in Exchange 2010? -
i'm wondering best practice "archiving" old disabled accounts in exchange. work small health exchange company , upper management wants mailbox on 60 days old, backed , off our network. .pst created mailbox, put on network short time backed tape, deleted (the mailbox , .pst).
i'm assuming companies disable account , mailbox mailbox goes "inactive" storage , leave there.
thanks input.
i don't think there 1 size fits strategy.
some of clients work 1 or of following.
disable mailbox 30-90 days, archive pst , delete mailbox.
set autoforward appropriate individual replacing user in question, , give user full mailbox access.
archive , delete mailbox , assign old email address catch mailbox, or duplicate address new user.
alternatively disable account , hide gal if wanted keep readily available longer 60 days.
