running rstudio in mac (not server) , know locate rprofile.site file in working directory. yes have read ?startup , know want (provided find file first) , yes know getwd() is.
i have gone through bunch of posts in vaguely touch on/ answer this. surely keep coming ask question: there literal file can open , update great start code has been shared , if so, located in mac directory or there more cannot locate file.
1 answer found mentions create text file use terminal copy visible contents of text file invisible rprofile? invisible??
rprofile.site , .rprofile different files. files lead "." treated invisible mac finder. didn't specify osx version you're using. if it's pre-mountain lion, can iirc use system preferences choose display invisible files in finder windows. apparently it's more difficult in mountainlion. there third-party tools onyx allow set invisibility well.
given that, recommend check faq , forums @ rstudio specific info on rstudio's installation expects see these files.
