ubuntu - Eclipse multi editor window copy + paste + undo + redo + delete -


recently started using eclipse (4.2.2) pdt php dev. having issues if have multiple editor containers open. i'm using ubuntu, dont know if has baring on it.

i drag out of tabs onto other screens giving them windowed container outside of main ide. when this, copy , paste not work on child window, , instead acts cursor still on main code container.

if have multiple editor containers within original ide window fine, problem manifests when drag container own window.

just noticed, wont let me undo / redo, or press 'delete' without having same effect on parent window. backspace fine

is bug or 'feature'? , idea how fix it?

i have found if inside of dragging existing editor tab out new window, go "window" menu , select "new editor". drag out , things work expect them to.

fyi - not appear ubuntu specific have same problem on osx 10.8.5 running eclipse juno sr2.
